Shana Huizenga, LMHC

Therapist

Shana is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and has experience working as a Behavior Analyst. Since 2005, she has worked with children and young adults ranging from 19 months to 26 years of age. Her focus and experience includes Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Social Skills, School Performance, Developmental Delays, Family Centered Care, Person Centered Planning, Parent Training, and Life Skills. Shana has experience collaborating with related professionals such as IEP teams, Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists.


Shana’s graduate degree included an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. She has studied and attended workshops from the Gottman Institute and has a continued interest in relationships. She sees the importance of helping individuals and families in finding their strengths and working toward living the satisfying and enriching life they want. Shana has a collaborative style and draws from her extensive experience in Behaviorism. She is also interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and integrating ACT and psychological flexibility techniques to create an individualized approach to each client.
